  • Morning

Today the Sign Language group performs at National Fine Arts competition.  I'll keep you posted, as someone there keeps me posted.

I'm hoping to get my laundry caught up today, and have my house looking better before the refrig. repairman comes to finish the job.  I also need to go run a few errands.  I'm so grateful for A/C during this hot weather!

Hope you have a blessed day!

  • Keyboard issue

My question mark key/backslash key on my keyboard isn't working, so I have to use the division key on the number pad to make a backslah.  [I also have to use the decimal key on the number pad to make a period, because the period key is also not working.]  So, how do I ask a question without question marks......I use the old TTY lingo.  The ancient TTY [a device used by the Deaf to communicate on the telephone] didn't have easy ways to make punctuation marks, so they had a lingo.

    For example:

    • to indicate a question - QQ
    • to indicate an end to a thought, and your turn to type - GA
    • to indicate nearing an end to the conversation - SK

So, for this post [and probably all future ones until I get something new] please refer to this to understand my question mark dilima.

    Okay QQ

  • Harrison---AGAIN-----tomorrow - Thursday

This will make the 4th time in a week!!!  To add insult to injury, they are repaving Hwy 7, so you get to sit and wait, and wait, and wait, and WAIT......GRRRR!

    I also missed church tonight - Wednesday.........GRRR!

Did you know that if you "fire" a realtor, you still have to pay them commission........GRRRR!

So much for my "staying positive".............GRRR @ myself!

OK, on a POSITIVE note.........I did have a fabulous lunch with an amazingly kind friend yesterday.  I certainly hope to get to do that more often.

Well, I'm off to bed.....will sleep.......change my attitude..........and be more POSITIVE next time!

  • Here, there, everywhere

Arrived back home late Sunday.....left again early Monday morning, back to Harrison to help Pa....arrived back home again late Monday.....up early again this morning to work, run errands, etc.....

As for the camp trip, my pics didn't turn out good.  Good thing my sister Kim and my brother's girlfriend Angie were there.  They are awesome photographers!

Hope to have lunch with a friend today.

Here are some pics of just the boys and sites to see from here to Harrison.

  • Crime - breaking and entering/robbery

Guess it's okay for me to post this now.  It'll probably be in the newspaper soon anyway.

Most of you know that my husband manages a store here in town.  Well, last night, someone broke into that store and robbed it.  Main thing they got was all the cash (almost $400), but it doesn't appear (so far) that lots of inventory is missing.

Now, please bear with me, but unless you've ever experienced being robbed, then you may not understand when I say, we feel violated.  It changes you.  For example, I go to Wal-Mart, and as I'm walking the ailes, passing people, I'm looking and wondering, "Are you the one who did it?" and "Are you buying that with the money you stole from us?!"  It's crazy.

A lot of you know how my husband is, literally will give you the shirt off his back.  He would go out of his way to make sure customers were happy.  He's not shrunk back in his witness for Christ; in fact, he has openly advertised it on the sign.  He didn't deserve this!

Frankly, it's heart-changing.  It changes your outlook and trust level.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm grateful......grateful that:  no one was hurt, the robbers were gone by the time he got there to open the store this morning, that more things weren't taken, that more damage wasn't done, etc.  Yes, it could've been much worse.

Yes, we have forgiven whoever did this.....we're just waiting on God to work out the rest.

Please keep everyone in your prayers, including the business behind ours that was robbed over the weekend.

Thanks for your patience during my rant.  I know most of you are going through so much worse.  Please know that you are also in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Farkle/Farkel

Either way you spell it, it's now my family's new addiction.  It's a dice game that some friends of ours in Harrison introduced to us.  I looked it up on the internet, and I'm shocked at how many different ways there are to play this one game.  Anyway, my kids enjoy it, and my husband actually will play this with them (he's not a "game" person.).

One of our neighbors brought us some Tamales this afternoon.....real, homemade Tamales.  Make you want to slap somebody!

Hope you all are having a good weekend.  Whereever you may be, please, make sure you are in church tomorrow!

  • We hit a deer.

We're okay.  Car has a little damage, but seems fixable.  We're all safe, just a little shook up.

We went to Harrison today to take care of some business, visit some people, etc....then on the way home....BAM!  A 6 point buck decides to commit suicide.  No, we don't have deer meat now.  He stumbled/rolled off down the embankment into the woods to die.

I'll post the fun/positive stuff tomorrow.  Right now, I'm just still a little shakey.

  • Long picture post (Son's Birthday)

Yesterday, my youngest son went from a child to the double digits.  As he put it, "Now that I'm 10, you can trust me to be more mature."  What does that mean exactly?  He said that he didn't want a big party this year.  He just wanted family, so that's what we did.  Here's some pics from his "family party".

He's reading the card Tiger got for him....it was pretty funny, btw.

He had to give his big brother a big hug of thanks.

    Here's some gift pics.

    JerryBDay07 033

Star Wars and Legos were on his wish list.

    JerryBDay07 035

He's quite the artist, so art-stuff was high on the list.

    JerryBDay07 037

Now, as for cake and decor.  He wanted a Spider-man theme.  So, I tried to make a web on the one side and the Spidey-eyes on the other with crumpled streamers.  Did I ever mention that I'm not artistic?

    JerryBDay07 044

Here's the Spidey cupcake cake.  (I bought it cuz my homemade cake turned out VERY bad.)  I think I have mentioned how I can't cook.

    The wish.....wonder what it was?

    JerryBDay07 049

And of course, the face with cake.

    I love you very much!
