Guess it's okay for me to post this now. It'll probably be in the newspaper soon anyway.
Most of you know that my husband manages a store here in town. Well, last night, someone broke into that store and robbed it. Main thing they got was all the cash (almost $400), but it doesn't appear (so far) that lots of inventory is missing.
Now, please bear with me, but unless you've ever experienced being robbed, then you may not understand when I say, we feel violated. It changes you. For example, I go to Wal-Mart, and as I'm walking the ailes, passing people, I'm looking and wondering, "Are you the one who did it?" and "Are you buying that with the money you stole from us?!" It's crazy.
A lot of you know how my husband is, literally will give you the shirt off his back. He would go out of his way to make sure customers were happy. He's not shrunk back in his witness for Christ; in fact, he has openly advertised it on the sign. He didn't deserve this!
Frankly, it's heart-changing. It changes your outlook and trust level.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm grateful......grateful that: no one was hurt, the robbers were gone by the time he got there to open the store this morning, that more things weren't taken, that more damage wasn't done, etc. Yes, it could've been much worse.
Yes, we have forgiven whoever did this.....we're just waiting on God to work out the rest.
Please keep everyone in your prayers, including the business behind ours that was robbed over the weekend.
Thanks for your patience during my rant. I know most of you are going through so much worse. Please know that you are also in my thoughts and prayers.
