  • planning

I'm planning on being able to post more often after school is out.

I'm planning on getting my house to look like a home again instead of a garbage can that's been emptied onto every open space in every room.

I'm planning on finding the snake that's loose in my classroom. [copperhead was found in other hall, snake skin was found in room adjoining mine, and we've been hearing the little booger bumping around in our closet, etc]

I'm planning on getting all the grading, reports, files, meetings, etc...all finished in time.

I'm planning on getting my room packed up....before the middle of June.

    I'm planning on actually getting a full-nights sleep....eventually.

I'm planning on catching up with all of you. [I do care, just not great at showing it.]

  • Pa's haircut

    Pa1

Pa gets his haircut in Marshall. Howard Horton has been cutting hair for a VERY long time. He is 91 years young (will be 92, Dec. 1st). He and my Pa have the best time! Rarely, I get to sit in on these moments. I didn't have a real camera with me, just my phone, so please excuse the poor photography.

    banjo1

This banjo was Howard's father's. His father worked for a blacksmith and traded two "hack wheels" for it. It wasn't new when he traded for it, so Mr. Horton estimates it to be "over a hunderd year old".

  • Update, Thanks, Revival...not in that order

First of all, thank you Dear Friends for your encouraging comments on my last post. They really helped.

Today, we went to Tulsa to see the ONLY surgeon willing to even SEE if he can help my Pa.  He has scheduled him for a new MRI and blood work on Tuesday at 8:30AM, then straight to his office after that to see our options (if there are any) and make final decisions.  The Dr. said that it appears spinal fusion will be our only choice to prevent paralysis.

I can't even begin to explain my thoughts or emotions right now.

    Did I mention that tomorrow is Pa's birthday......his 86th!

Revival this week has been awesome and exhausting.

    Isn't God amazing?!!

Wish I had the strength to write about it all on here.

Thanks also for being  so patient with me.  I'm not great at leaving comments, but I do read your posts.  I laugh, cry, and pray after reading your posts.  Keep 'em comin'!

  • Changes

Pa is staying with us for a while.  He has an appointment in Tulsa, OK on the 29th.  What happens there will determine what happens next for Pa.

My mind is whirling with thoughts.  I'm trying to not dwell on the what-ifs.

Someone from work asked why I was the one dealing with this situation and not my Mother.  *Gulp*  Part of me was sad, and strangely, another part of me was mad.

Can you tell my emotions and thoughts are much like a rollercoaster?

In other news, Eric has been nominated for Deacon at church.  The vote is this Sunday.

    In God's hands.....everything.

  • Mercy and Grace

Aren't you glad God gives us both?  We don't deserve it, but He gives it in abundance.

    Just grateful for it.

    Moma05

Mom's birthday came and went on Monday the 15th.  She would've been 57.  I tried to occupy myself, but it wasn't easy.  She loved her last birthday.  She also loved snow...always!  She was the biggest "kid" in the bunch when it came to snow days.  The ice had a little snow with it, and it just seemed fitting that her birthday would have it.  I bet she and Jesus had a blast in Heaven.

  • Need Answers

If I knew how to blog on this from my mobile phone, I'd update more often.  I'm not on my computer as much as I was, but I'm on my phone browser a lot.  It's one reason my Facebook stays more updated because they have Facebook Mobile that's easy to use.

If anyone knows how to use Xanga with your phone or PDA, please let me know.

    Thanks!

  • Favor

Ever had a time, when you just felt God showing you favor?  Well, I had an incredible day yesterday.  Sunday was awesome, but I was pleasently surprised at Monday.  My life everyday is very blessed, but yesterday was just exceptionally so.

For instance, I went to pay a bill....was told that I was about to pay too much...it was actually half of what I was going to pay.  My phone has been needing to be changed, but I'm not due for an upgrade yet......but God blessed me with a really good used phone, but in excellent condition and exactly what I've been needing.  Nanny had a much better day.  Pa seemed to be fairing better.  Uncle Donnie took a turn for the better.   Literally, everything was so good, it was a little scary.

I pray God surprises you with an awesome day with His favor shining on you......so much that it scares you a little bit!

  • Nanny

Alzheimers disease is cruel.  It has reared it's ugly head this week.

We are now having to put Nanny in a Nursing home.  Ugh!  It's an ugly process.

Please keep everyone involved in your prayers.  I'm off work tomorrow to be in Harrison helping with the process.
