  • Apology on knees

I seem to always begin my posts with apologizing for not posting.....seems like the easy thing would be to just post, right?  Hummm, I see a habit here that needs work.

So, once again, I apologize profusely for not updating more often.

I care about each one of you; I'm so sorry I've not shown it more by posting and commenting.

    Here's the bulleted version:

    • My contract with RHS ended, and now it appears I will be signing one with Sequoyah Elem.
    • Working with the Sign Language groups for Fine Arts and gearing up for Nationals.
    • Interpreting for the State of Arkansas.
    • Taking care of things in Harrison.
    • Spent so much time traveling that I'm tempted to put a toilet in my vehicle!
    • Getting ready for more travel after returning from Nationals.

So, actually, after school starts, things will slow down a little........HAHAHHAHA!!  Who am I kidding!

  • Desert to Dessert?

I know it's been a long time.  I know I have been very neglectful of posting on your sites, and I apologize for not being more diligent.

Before I get into why I'm posting now, let me update a little....

We had an incredible blessing happen to us on Sunday - Father's Day (which is an especially difficult time for my husband).  How do I say it?  Someone gave us a "preacher" handshake.  $$$ And it was just in time.  I broke down and cried in Sunday School class.

Also, God put me back to work in Deaf Ministry again!!!  I can't begin to explain how my heart has longed for it.

Eric decided we would get some burgers, go home, and relax for the afternoon.  We went to church that night.  The next day, I was violently, without warning, very sick.  I will not post the details here, but it was so bad that Tiger called Eric at work and begged him to come home without my knowledge.  It turned out to be food poisoning.  I am much better, and recovered just in time.

Nanny was having chest pains.  Pa called me, and I drove to Harrison and took them to the hospital.  She was examined and put in ICU, today they put her in a room to do more tests, then to send her home.  So far, they do not think it involves her heart at all, but her lungs have spots.  They are talking about some kind of test for asbestos exposure!  Very weird!!!  She is bruised on her chest, and we still can't figure out why.  Needless to say, Pa hasn't had much sleep either.  Unless for some other reason I end up having to go before then, I will be back up there on Tuesday to take Pa to his appointment.

Okay, now for the real reason.......

I had an experience with God that I felt needed to be shared, because I believe it is for blessing someone who will hear/read it.

I was in my kitchen, cleaning and praising.  I do that, especially when the kids are out playing.  Suddenly, I heard Him say, "Your time in the desert is over."  I literally fell on my knees!  The presence of the Lord was overwhelming.  We have had so many things going on in our life that I haven't shared with anyone.  We have been tested in many ways, and he says that time is over now.  PRAISE THE LORD!!!!  LET IT RAIN!!!

Gotta go for now, try to put more later tomorrow night!!!!!

  • Behind

I'm so behind on these updates.

First of all, I'm so proud of all the Fine Arts participants.  They did such a great job ministring!  If you see one of the leaders or Pastors, let them know how much you appreciate what they are doing with these young people.  It's awesome!!!

Pa came through surgery.  He's now flying high on Percacet.

Norman is going down.  Not sure how long he has left.

I'll update everything else later.  I'm very behind on everything.

  • Misc update and funny

Missed church tonight....I'll be well eventually.  I haven't shared about my being sick, because I was trying to be more positive, speak faith, etc.  There must be some way to be balanced in sharing needs and yet not becoming too negative.  I'm working on it.

    Now, some funny...

On one of our many trips to funerals lately, we had to stop in Sonic for the boys.  I hand the bag of food to Tiger in the back seat.  Then the dialog of:

Me:  Did you boys get everything you ordered?

Tiger:  Yes, and so much more!!  (very enthusiastically)

Me:  More?  What did you get?  (hoping we didn't accidently get someone else's food)

Tiger:  It's a little white package.

Me:  What?  A toy? (knowing we didn't order a meal with a toy)

Tiger:  Let's see, it says Crystal Mm--mmeehh---mmmeeehhh-----mm eeehhh ttaahh (like he's having trouble reading the package - crystal meth)

Where does he come up with that stuff???

[How can that kid be so funny????  In such a serious time too!]

    So, on another note....

A few days ago, Eric was in a little lecture to Jerry regarding a situation with some neighborhood kids.  He said, "Now Jerry, it's like a skunk:  It's best just to leave them alone.  If you bother them too much, you'll just raise a stink."

Yesterday, we get a phone call from Tiger, he's up the street playing, and we told him to come on home.  He's on the phone with his Dad, when this conversation happens.....

Tiger:  Dad!  I'm up the street, but I can't come home.  There's a skunk in our yard!

    Eric:  Really?  Where?

Tiger:  The front yard, I'm looking right at it, and it's playing with our basketball!!

    Eric:  WHAT?!

To which he steps outside [broom in hand, ready to battle the skunk]------ just to see one of the little neighborhood boys playing basketball in our yard.

Apparently, Tiger was listening.....in a way.

I love my boys, I love my boys, I LOVE MY BOYS!
